This is an alternative universes project, focused on settings outside the FE3H canon.

Within this project, canon-divergent settings are NOT considered AUs. (E.g. Blue Lions Ferdinand, golden route, role swap).

References to canon within the AUs (e.g. place names, the Church of Seiros etc) are permitted.

Reincarnation AU pitches are not permitted as the overall zine has a reincarnation theme.

Crossovers with other media and franchises (e.g. Dragon Age AU, Hunger Games AU) are permitted as long as the setting is easily recognisable and distinct from canon.

The zine is SFW, rated T. Mild nudity, suggestive scenes, and non-graphic violence (including non-gory or stylised depictions of blood) are permitted. Advice on rating and tagging fics can be found here.

LGBTQIA+ headcanons are welcome.

Almost Sentimental will not feature any polyam ships featuring Ferdibert, as it is primarily a Ferdibert project.

Background ships will be allowed as long as they are not the focus of the piece.

Fluff, angst, and everything in between is allowed. MCD will be permitted on a case by case basis, as long as it serves the story (narratively or thematically).

You must be 16+ to apply for the zine.

All work included in your applications must be your own. We do not consider Generative AI works to be your own.

NSFW samples are permitted in your application, but must have NSFW in the file name so mods are aware. At least one of your samples must fit the rating of the zine (up to Teen).

External factors e.g. social media following or other works/ships outside of the samples provided in applications will not affect contributor acceptance.

You will not be penalised if you choose not to follow recommendations.

If applying to create an alternative art media type (Non-digital artwork—provided you are able to produce high quality scans/photos of your work, watercolours, paintings, papercraft) please include at least one sample in the media type you would like to create.

We recommend you include one AU sample.

We recommend you include one sample featuring either Hubert, Ferdinand, or both.

If applying to do a recipe, please provide 3 samples.

Otherwise, please provide an appropriate amount of samples to showcase your talent, to a maximum of 8.

One sample must be a completed standalone fic under 3k words.

Your other samples may be excerpts if you wish.

The combined word count for your other samples is 6k, to be used how you wish. (E.g. you can submit one sample that is 4k and another that is 2k).

If applying to create an alternative writing type, please include one in your samples.

Context is very important as an AU zine. Without it, your samples may lose marks for being confusing! Please ensure you include it, and assume mods have no prior knowledge of the AU/property/fic, even if it's FE3H or FEW3H.

We have a full mod team and will not be holding mod apps.

Will the zine feature podfics?

As a mod team, we do not have the skillset to support podficcers in this project, so we will not be featuring podfic. There will be a digital accessible version of the zine for those who require it! If you have any specific questions about the accessible version of the zine, please DM us so we can assist!

Are you shipping/selling to (place)?

We will be shipping globally, subject to US government restrictions. Preparations are underway to offer shipping options to as many destinations as possible, including to Germany, Europe, and the UK! As we get closer to opening preorders, we will be able to provide a full list of destination countries based on current shipping restrictions. In the rare event that there are any issues shipping to your address after you've placed your order, we'll reach out to arrange an alternative or provide a refund.

Will there be a NSFW side zine?

We do not currently have plans for a NSFW side zine.
